"I was pretty scared coming to therapy for the first time. I'd had a horrible childhood and I've struggled most of my life with anxiety and depression and my relationship with men has been a car crash. I didn't want to be here... this changed when I met George. I liked him instantly and he made me feel safe. He's a genuinely lovely guy... he explained everything to me... and we worked out the reasons I was feeling the way I was... and we focused on all the horrible memories from my childhood... I'm now feeling more peaceful inside and I'm beginning to enjoy my life. I'm getting married next month and I don't think this would have happened without George's help."
BW, Glasgow
"I was in a terrible motorbike crash 6 years ago and was in hospital for months. The doctor said I had PTSD. It was horrendous. The broken bones healed (even though I've got loads of scars)... but I was a wreck inside before I met George. He was so patient with me... we used EMDR and CBT and it really helped to take away the pain... I can actually get on with my life now."
GD, Edinburgh
"I'm so grateful for George's help. I was involved in a tragedy where many people died... I survived and I felt to guilty... I had nightmares for months... I was stuck in my house terrified to go out. My brain felt a sponge that was absolutely full with water and I could barely eat or do anything for myself... and my marriage fell apart... I was in such a state and didn't want to be here... George really helped me understand what was going on and we processed all the flashback pictures in my mind... and thoughts that were taking over my life... and now my body and mind is more peaceful."
GP, London
"I was depressed for absolutely years... the self hate was the worst part... seeing all my friends get on with their lives and me lying in bed barely able to get out the house... I hated what I saw in the mirror... and could hear my mum's voice telling me that I was ugly... (she's been dead 23 years)... George used schema therapy so we went back to the memories to face up to my mum... and I was at last able to get rid of her voice from my head... I've lost two stone now and have stopped drinking... and I've met a new man and I'm at last feeling a wee bit happier."
